Youth Ministry

"Good youth ministry is parent ministry," says one youth ministry expert. Parents have a huge role in the faith formation of their adolescent children, so we encourage parents to actively seek their own spiritual growth and to be involved in our ministries for young people at Diamond Lake. Youth Ministry is more than just a youth group and includes all our core values: worship, learning, fellowship, and service. Youth and their ministries are not hidden at Diamond Lake. Our youth shine and are active in the whole life of the congregation. Many of our youth know many of our adults and vice versa. This is the way to build the Body of Christ and let our youth know that the church is always a place of grace for them.

Many youth love our active youth group, which meets 1-3 times a week and takes retreats and service trips. Other youth prefer to get involved teaching Sunday school to little ones or helping maintain our building on project days. You'll often see youth taking leadership roles in worship with their families, ushering, assisting with communion, or reading texts for the day. We encourage all our committees at church to consider how youth can be involved with their ministries, and we hope to touch the lives of all youth who come through our doors with the love of God in Christ.

Below you'll find information primarily, but not exclusively, on our youth group ministries. We do separate our youth into Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) for many activities.
