Confirmation Families,
Each year the Minneapolis
Area Synod creates a worship service for as many as 5000 confirmation
students at Roy Wilkerson Auditorium in St. Paul. Ann Bancroft, the
internationally known explorer, is the speaker at this year's
Celebration of Confirmation. She will offer her perspectives on global
warming and her faith community. This is an excellent opportunity for
confirmation students to discover that they are part of a larger faith
community experiencing confirmation together, and it is an opportunity
to prepare them in a unique way for the National Youth Gatherings that
they can participate in as high school students.
The Celebration is November
7 from 6:00-8:00--a Super Wednesday (no confirmation, no choir). $7.00
per person. A poster and letter that were sent to congregations are
attached. Parents are encouraged to attend. I am willing to coordinate
so would like to know who would like to go and who would be able to
carpool if we need drivers. We would probably need to leave Diamond Lake
around 5:00 to get over to Wilkerson Auditorium by 6:00.

no later than Monday, Oct. 15 and I'll take care of all the
arrangements.
