Caring for Creation
In the summers of 2008 and 2009, Diamond Lake hosted "Caring for Creation," a community outreach event. We invited our members, our immediate neighbors, and all of our fellow planet inhabitants in the community and beyond. We had exhibitors from many "green" organizations including the DNR, researchers from the University of Minnesota, and so on. It was fun and enlightening to go from booth to booth and learn about the many ways each of us can do our part to help the environment and to preserve our beautiful planet for generations to come. We also provided lunch, music, and freebees including reusable bags. It was fun!We have decided not to have a "Caring for Creation" event in 2010. However, that does not mean that the message does not live on. As a house of God in your neighborhood, we are committed to continuing our goal of living green (or greener - we're still a work in progress). We are working to cut down on the amount of paper documents we use by sending as much communication as possible electronically. We recycle absolutely everything we can! And we try to pass on some great tips for living green whenever we can.
We are working to do our part and we hope that you will, too. Below are some links with great tips on green living.
