Prayer Shawls

The Diamond Lake Prayer Shawl Ministry began in the fall of 2006, developing as an outgrowth of our 40 Days of Purpose study the previous spring.  We are a group of about 12 women who meet the 4th Wednesday of each month following the congregational dinners.  We provide yarn and patterns for those who participate.  Each shawl maker begins with prayers and blessing for the recipient, and these prayers are continued throughout the creation of the shawl even though the maker usually has no idea who will receive the finished shawl.  Upon completion, one of the pastors makes a home or hospital visit and passes the shawl on to someone who is hurting or in need of a special blessing.  These handmade shawls are tangible evidence of God’s love, and the concern we feel toward one another at Diamond Lake.

How can you be a part of the Prayer Shawl Ministry?
