Not Just for Sundays
Our worship services are every Sunday at 9:30 am, but you’ll find activities inside and outside our building throughout the week as well. Take a look at our calendar and join us!

You are welcome at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, a Reconciling in Christ congregation. Your presence makes your journey part of our journey–one we share with people of all ages and abilities, family structures, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, races and ethnic backgrounds, and financial circumstances. We affirm that every individual is a member of God’s family, uniquely created and worthy of belonging. We are joyfully committed to hearing your stories, engaging your gifts, and working alongside you to strive for racial equity, promote social and economic justice, and heal our broken world. This congregation, like all congregations, is fallible and flawed. We make mistakes. But we are dedicated to building relationships with all who believe, doubt, question, seek, and wonder.
If you’re exploring Diamond Lake Lutheran Church for the first time, our website will answer many questions. We invite you to visit us in person to learn even more about who we are and what we do. Our worship services are every Sunday at 9:30 am, but you’ll find activities at Diamond Lake throughout the week as well. Wednesday evenings are especially busy with a community meal, Kids Club, Youth Group, and the Lakeview Forum. Take a look at our calendar and join us!
The easiest way to become part of a church community is to get involved. From social outreach to Bible study and more, we offer many opportunities to deepen relationships both inside our walls and out in the community. Drop in at any time to learn more about how each group operates. We can’t wait to meet you!

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. A single donation can save up to three lives — and it only takes about an hour of your time. If you’re eligible to donate blood, this is one of the simplest and most impactful things you can do for your community. Supplies are especially critical heading into the summer months, when donation rates typically drop but demand stays high.

Our annual spring series, Lives of Faith, returns! This year we’ll be learning more about people whose vocation is devoted to music. Our first presenter is our own Dr. Kevin Hobbs, the pianist and organist of Diamond Lake Lutheran.
Kevin is Professor of Music at North Hennepin Community College. He also teaches at Mount Calvary Academy of Music, where he is on the board of directors, and has served on the faculties of the University of Minnesota and Gustavus Adolphus. Kevin earned his B.M. and M.M. from the University of Cincinnati and his D.M.A. from the University of Minnesota as a student of Lydia Artymiw. He has won multiple awards and performs internationally. His students have also won top prizes in piano competitions.

Join community songleaders C. Onyx Li and Liz Digitale Anderson of Good Trouble for an evening exploring the way community singing has brought people together to push back against the ICE occupation and care for each other in imaginative new ways. C. and Liz will share their history and experience with songleading, stories from Singing Resistance efforts, discuss their projects to train songleaders and process grief, and teach us some of the songs that have given people hope and courage during these last few months. Get ready to learn and sing together!

StreetSong MN is a choir founded in 2014 with a simple but powerful mission: uniting voices for harmony and community. Comprised of people with lived experience of homelessness — those currently or formerly without housing — as well as those who care about them, StreetSong MN is an enterprise of Align Minneapolis and is directed by Liz Digitale Anderson. The choir will share their music and their deep commitment to making space for our unhoused neighbors.

On May 1, people will rally, march, and take action across the country to demand a nation that puts workers over billionaires. As we did during the January 23 strike, we are hosting a community gathering space with lunch (including vegetarian and gluten-free options). We’ll have activities and mutual aid projects for all ages as well as supplies for sign-making for those planning to attend the 4:30 pm rally. Carpools will be organized to depart from the church around 4 pm.
All are welcome to come, pray, reflect, or simply be together in a shared spirit of solidarity.
This event is free!

Explore one of Hugo Haeuser’s final Gothic Revival masterpieces of church design. Soaring vaulted ceilings, carved wood details, and stained-glass windows steeped in biblical and cultural imagery are just a few of the highlights of historic Diamond Lake Lutheran Church. A stained-glass scavenger hunt is fun for all ages; fuel up for your next Doors Open destination with cookies and real Lutheran coffee. On Sunday, come early for the 9:30 am “big music” worship service!
Fully accessible with a large parking lot!

When you arrive, friendly greeters will welcome you. If you have a few extra minutes, grab a cup of coffee and a Bogart’s Doughnut, and join folks in the commons area for conversation.
During worship, you’ll experience a blend of liturgy, Bible readings, and a thought-provoking sermon. Children are actively engaged in the service through features such as the Pray-Ground at the front of the sanctuary and the Sermon on the Steps. Holy Communion is part of every worship service.
Award-winning musician Dr. Kevin Hobbs plays both the organ and grand piano, offering worshippers a weekly prelude and postlude on the grand piano. The choir is directed by Dr. Bruce Gleason, and services often feature the Children’s and Carillon Bell Choirs, led by Chuck Linderkamp.
Congregational Fellowship Hour: Following worship, stay awhile to enjoy more Lutheran coffee, Bogart’s Doughnuts, and great conversation.

Each of us is gifted with unique talents, interests, and life experiences. Using these gifts alongside others helps us to carry out our mission at Diamond Lake to learn, follow, and serve. Learn more about the variety of committees, teams, and ministries we offer. Some of them keep our church healthy and vibrant while others focus on connecting with people in the greater community. We invite you to consider where God might be calling you to be of service.
